What you can expect

Prepare to immerse in a frosty paradise as you spend the day at New Zealand's longest glacier, the Tasman Glacier. Your adventure begins with a scenic flight from Queenstown to Mount Cook Airport, where you'll fly over the spectacular Southern Alps studded with over 3000 glistening glaciers. Upon arrival, you'll be run through a safety briefing before boarding the helicopter for a flight into a deep part of the glacier, soaring above majestic icefalls and waterfalls to land at the upper Tasman Glacier icefall. Here, you will be fitted with crampons for your two hour hike, exploring magnificent ice caves and experiencing firsthand the ever-changing wonders of this snowy landscape. Following your hike, you will return to the airport by helicopter to meet your plane for the return journey to Queenstown.
